We are looking for experienced, talented, and highly motivated individuals to join our team for our new unprecedented wellness center and community in El Segundo! SUMMARY The Sous Chef is responsible for running BOH operations and shifts, scheduling and supervision of BOH team members and the preparation, presentation, and service of menu items.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Leadership position managing all BOH operations.
  • Must be able to communicate English and Spanish clearly and effectively.
  • Strong ability to delegate, willingness to coach, and hold team accountable.
  • Expedite food, ensure every dish and all aspects of our product go out to LL standard.
  • Accommodate special requests and dietary restrictions.
  • Manage Sanitation, Health code adherence of the restaurant.
  • Manages scheduling of all BOH employees.
  • Inspects food receiving, food preparation, food production areas, and storage space to ensure that health and safety regulations are always adhered to.
  • Assists Restaurant Manager in implementing effective controls of food cost, labor management, and inventory.
  • Manage kitchen labor and supports kitchen staff needs daily, weekly.
  • Assists with training and supervising to insure we provide the best product and service to our guests.
  • Open or close the restaurant.
  • Executes any other duties as assigned by Executive Chef, manager, or supervisor.

The Sous Chef must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to demonstrate they can perform the essential functions of the job, along with the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and self-directed
  • Background in kitchen management and/or catering production
  • Adaptable and able to prioritize and manage a busy line and BOH
  • Dependable, strong work ethic, efficient, with a commitment to excellence
  • Openness to constructive feedback and being coached/mentored
  • Available for flexible scheduling to meet the needs of the restaurant
  • Per the Restaurant’s needs, you may be asked to perform other related duties
  • Desire to contribute strongly to the LL culture

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • 2 years of experience in kitchen management positions
  • Hold a current state food handlers' certification.
